Great pic David, thanks for sharing. Seeing this makes me think of the bells. As I remember it, Mrs Day of the Scouts used to train and organise the bellringers in the 1970s. I know because my brother Gwynedd was an Abergele bellringer. I think CDs of bells were used in later times. Just wondering how often St Michael,s bells are rung by hand nowadays?
I’m not sure Gareth but I often listen to them in the garden. They seem to have a practice every Monday night so I presume they still ring them by hand. The thing I like about this pic is the little shop at the bottom of Peel Street that later became a bicycle shop.
Interesting to see that The Numbers were not on this photo – they were situated were the wall is, (looks like blankets over these walls) facing water street where the bus shelter is today.
