I am working on a project to digitise the Abergele Town Council Archives and need to contact a couple of local photographers to obtain copyright consent to publish online with the Welsh Assembly sponsored website Casgliad y Werin Cymru or the Peoples Collection Wales.
Can any of your staff or readers assist in locating Sion Jones, formerly of Eldon Drive, Abergele and Cliff Pickup, formerly of Clwyd Avenue, Abergele.
Grateful thanks,
Mal Hughes
Sounds like a good project Mal. Sion’s a regular contributor to AbergelePost. He may already have digitized some of the images you need. I’m not in touch with Cliff but his canon of work about Abergele must be huge as he has been another prolific and well-respected photographer.
Tesco first got to N Wales by taking over John Irwin’s Grocers who had branches in every town. I worked in Abergele Irwin’s in the early 60,s when we delivered to the farms in the area.
