Would you like to help form a new social club in Abergele?

Although I’m not keen on the description of Abergele as a ‘retirement town’, this card caught my eye because the person who posted it makes a good point: it would be good to have new opportunities for older people in the area to meet each other. If you agree and you’d like to find out more, call the number on the card:

  1. Nik:

Coffee and Chat meet every Friday morning at the Dewi Sant Community Centre in Pensarn. It is aimed towards the older generation and is a relaxed group. Also at the centre is a Wellbeing afternoon from 12.30pm – 3pm every Wednesday where there are a number of activities such as boccia (similar to bowls), table tennis, table games and crafts as well as tea, coffee and biscuits. Aimed towards older or disabled community members but also great for younger ages. For more details of either group just pop in on either Wednesday afternoon or Friday morning.

There is also the Autumn Club which is a group ideally suited to the advert, held at the Community Centre on a Wednesday morning. I was also going to mention the Coffee & Chat Club held each Friday morning at Pensarn. A Men!s Shed has recently been formed.
Abergele has many little groups of the type described who receive grant funding for their activities.
