What a lovely photo of Foxhole (Twll-llwynog as shown on some maps), one which brings back many memories from my childhood. My parents moved to Abergele around 1947 for my father to work as a male nurse at the Sanitorium (Plas Uchaf). They lived at Bron-heulog for around a year – in Dennis’s photo above, it is the farm whose gable end can be seen to the middle left of the image. As youngsters, we would often play in the fields & woods around Tan-y-Goppa, frequently heading from there along the lanes past Foxhole before crossing the Abergele-Llanfair road and into the hospital grounds on the way to Tower Hill. As in the photo, the days always seemed to be sunny back then for some reason.
Hi Nigel
My family have owned Bron Heulog since 1972. I am interested in its history. Have you any photos or anything??
